The final Cake Club at the University of Cumbria is now open.

It's a big one today and you can choose from the following delights:
 

• Banana cake
• Chocolate cake
• Chocolate, cherry and apricot brownie
• Coffee cake
• Flapjack (flapjack and more flapjack)
• French savoury cake (goats' cheese, prune and pistachio)
• Lemon drizzle buns
• Malteser cake
• Marble cake

Bring your pennies up to CM104 if you want a slice of something yummy.

Sorry if you didn't get a chance to taste the wonders we had on offer this time, but we've sold out of everything at Cake Club already.

We raised £28.50 which will be given to the Lancaster & District branch of the Samaritans, who provide a much needed service whether on the phone, by email or in person.

Well done everyone.

The next Cake Club will be on Wednesday 26 September 2012.

If you want to get involved, feel free to bake something and bring it along on the day. We also need plenty of people to eat cake, so it's not a problem if you don't want to bake.

As usual, all proceeds go to charity. Any money we raise this month will go to the Lancaster & District Samaritans, as nominated by a regular member of our cake eating team.

The last Cake Club raised £37.75 which went to Stick it to MS, a fun but noisy event run by the MS Society to raise both money and awareness.

That money also took us over the £500 mark for the total amount raised through Cake Club, so a massive thanks to everyone who's been involved and give yourselves a pat on the back!

Cake Club is simple.

• We'll announce the date of the next Cake Club.
• To get the news first, follow @CakeAlert on Twitter or 'Like' CakeJam on Facebook.
• You decide if you want to bake something or not.
• It doesn't have to be cake, it could be biscuits, muffins, flapjack, tray bakes or something else.
• On the morning of Cake Club, email us to let us know whether you've brought anything for the group.
• We'll publish a list of all the available cakes and tell people to look at this site.
• We'll keep the list of cakes updated during the day.
• If you want to buy something just pop along and swap your money for cake.
• All cakes are 50p per portion.
• All proceeds go to charity.

That's it. Nothing more complicated than that.
